This blog post is all about The Best Bible Verses to Live By!

There is much wisdom, love, experiences, and guidance in the Bible. It even gives us the best advice on how to live our lives. For many, it may seem restricting. Like you can’t live how you want to because an ancient book says so. I also used to have this mindset until I actually read the Bible and started applying Bible Principles.

The Bible is from a loving God (YHWH or Jehovah) who wants us to be wise in the decisions we make. Who lovingly guide us through life, so we don’t have many heartbreaks, financial struggles, a cold heart, living in fear, etc. There are many Bible Verses that when you apply them to your life, you can see a drastic change.

Another thing that you will learn as you read your Bible is that people really haven’t changed. Well, you might think that the Bible is an ancient book and outdated with its advice, but the experiences shared in the Bible will teach you about what people struggled with back in the day. People still struggle to this day with the same problem.

So, in today’s blog post, we will cover the best Bible verses to live by from Colossians through the book of First John. These are only some scriptures, not all, because if I did write all of the Bible verses to live by, this blog post would be extremely long.

These Bible verses have helped me mold my life for the better and live as God & Christ want us to live.

The Best Bible Verses to Live By

The Book of Colossians

Colossians 4: 5-6 | ” Go on walking in wisdom toward those on the outside, making the best use of your time. Let your words always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should answer each person.”

This is an amazing scripture to keep in your heart! Speaking graciously is so important, especially in a world where speaking graciously is bleak. Speaking graciously to someone who is already being nice is not hard. But how about when someone says something snarky or someone pops an attitude? Will you answer graciously, or will you match their energy?

“Making the best use of your time.” This scripture is one to keep in mind in a world where our phones are designed to take as much time as possible. How are you spending your time every day? Do you feel like you are making the best use of your time? If not, what can you change to make it possible?

The Book of 1 Thessalonians

1 Thessalonians 4:11 | “Make it your aim to live quietly and to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we instructed you.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 | “Always be rejoicing. Pray constantly. Give thanks for everything.”

The first scripture is my all-time favorite! It gave me a reality check and put me in my place. It’s straightforward.

The Book of 2 Timothy

2 Timothy 4:2 | “Preach the word; be at it urgently in favorable times and difficult times; reprove, reprimand, exhort, with all patience and art of teaching.”

We often forget about praying, sharing the word, giving thanks, or about God, especially when things are going well. It is a great reminder to always be in the word! Whether you are having a great time or a difficult time in your life, make an effort. It’s also essential to share the gospel with others, even if you have just started your Bible-reading journey.

The Book of Titus

Titus 3:2 | “To speak injuriously of no one not to be quarrelsome, but to be reasonable displaying all mildness toward all men.”

How often do you engage in gossip? Or say something you know you should not be saying? This is something we ALL do. You might start to realize that all people ever want to talk about is others, and not in a good way.

The Book of Hebrews

Hebrews 13:2 | “Do not forget hospitality, for through it some unknowingly entertained angels.”

Hebrews 11:6 | ” Without faith it is impossible to please God well, for whoever approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarded of those earnestly seeking him.”

The Book of James

James 4:7-8 | “Subject yourselves to God; but oppose the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw close to Jehovah, and he will draw close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you indecisive ones.”

James 1:19 | “Everyone must be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.”

James 4:3 | “When you do ask, you do not receive because you are asking for a wrong purpose, so that you may spend it on your fleshly desires.”

The Book of 1 Peter

1 Peter 3:16-17 | “Maintain a good conscience, so that in whatever way you are spoken against, those who speak against you may be put to shame because of. your good conduct as followers of Christ. For it is better to suffer because you are doing good, if it is God’s will to allow it, than because you are doing evil.”

1 Peter 5:7 | “… throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.”

1 Peter 3:9 | ” Do not pay back injury for injury, or insult for insult. Instead repay with a blessing.”

The Book of 1 John

1 John 2:15-17 | “Do not love either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; because everything in the world – the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life – does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. Furthermore the world is passing away and so its desire, but the one who does the will of God remains forever.”

1 John 5:3-4 | “For this is what the love of God means that we observe his Commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome, because everyone who has been born from God conquest the world. And this is the conquest that has conquered the world, our faith.”

1 John 3:17 | “Whoever has the material possessions of this world and sees his brother in need and yet refuses to show his compassion, in what way does the love of God remain in him?”

1 John 5:14-15 | “This is the confidence that we have toward him, that no matter what we ask according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us concerning whatever we are asking, we know that we are to have the things we ask for, since we have asked them of him.”
